English 4 is a year-long, required course for seniors. Passing this class is essential for graduation. The course emphasizes college and career readiness, meaning that it is my job to ensure you have the English skills required to apply for colleges or enter the workforce successfully. Students will examine literary criticisms and apply them to various texts. Students will refine the skills of critical thinking and rhetoric through thought-provoking personal response writing, essay writing and research assignments. In addition, guest speakers will visit the class to discuss possible college/career choices and examine options for life after high school.
I am Christina Hamilton, and I teach my favorite class-English IV with seniors! I am originally from Houston, Texas, but we are a retired military family and have traveled the world and returned to Gulf Breeze three years ago. My husband and I both were active duty Air Force, but I separated to pursue my love of teaching. I have lived in Texas, Florida, Italy, Pennsylvania, and Alaska. I have been married for 25 years and have three daughters. I also have a miniature schnauzer and a cat that are my fur babies. I have a Bachelor's in English and a Master's in Education. I am also National Board Certified in English Language Arts Adolescence through Young Adulthood. I have taught in different countries and states, and I have visited most countries in Europe and most major cities in the United States, but Pensacola Beach has always had my heart. It is the most beautiful beach I have seen. I love to bring all of my experiences and love of culture and literature to the classroom to share with my students. I am excited for a new school year! Go Dolphins!
